KOTA it certainly was a scorcher today. and it feels like it's been hot forever. so how do ?you? beat the heat? our stewart huntington went out to find how mother nature might have an answer. man>> oh its' hot. little girl>> oh it's so hot. second man>> it's hot outside. huntington>> hot . baked. scorched. broiled. any way you look at it third man>> it's really, really hot out. huntington>> so what's a body to do? you could reach for a cool drink or crank the air conditioning. or you could seek out a natural solution. lemme>> meade county>> as you walk up to the entrance here you feel the breeze of the cool air coming out of the entrance right here. huntington>> the black hills are home to some amazing caves. and they can stay nice and cool. lemme>> this cave here is 47 degrees it never changes the upper room is 47 degrees the lower unit of the cave is 47 it's a little wetter downstairs. huntington>> at wonderland cave between sturgis and nemo it's always cool. lemme>> nice feeling on a hot day. william rader and kids omaha, nebraska>> it felt great walking out of the heat and into their it felt great walking down into their because it's so hot outside walking into their felt like an air conditioner just a shock of cold air it's the temperature can drive business. when it's very hot outside we get very very busy. huntington>> and keep the staff fired up. rob lemme woderland cave manager>> there's no air conditioning inside the building it gets very very warm in there on a hot day that's when my tour guides fight to see who gets to take the next tour tour guide>> what we call this is chocolate covered broccoli. but really it is petrified seaweed. lemme>> because they know they get to come down and spend an hour down here in the cave cooling off. huntington>> reporting from a very nice place to be on such a hot day, this is stewart huntington, kota territory news. ag>> and here's a wonderland cave fun fact. there's a section of the cave they call "the refrigerator"
