Let's get right to the new releases this week with Chris the Critic with the Missouri Film Alliance! http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12464/7018661?cpt=8&wpid=2637 KOZL Hello Movie Maniacs! Let's get right to the new releases this week with Chris the Critic with the Missouri Film Alliance! New in theaters this week: I've actually been waiting for this flick for months! ATOMIC BLONDE (FOCUS FEATURES) - An undercover agent is sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent and recover a missing list of double agents. Charlize Theron, James MacAvoy & John Goodman lead the cast. Theron spent FIVE years developing this project! She had eight personal trainers to her her master the intense physical scenes … she even cracked a couple teeth in the making. Also out - we knew it wouldn't be long to make a movie about these - the EMOJI MOVIE (COLUMBIA) hits the big screen. A multi-expressional emoji, sets out on a journey to become a normal emoji. So many vocal stylings in this movie: two-time Critics Choice host TJ Miller, Anna Faris, James Corden, Maya Rudolph, Sophia Vergara, and Sir Patrick Stewart as the poop emoji! Tops at the Box Office last weekend: The World War II Epic, DUNKIRK led the box office race … DUNKIRK did receive the Critics' Choice Awards SEAL OF APPROVAL, meaning us voting on the Critics' Choice Awards loved it! GIRLS TRIP followed right behind it. GIRLS TRIP is a fun movie, not life changing, but, I laughed A LOT! And, I bet VALERIAN did NOT like debuting all the way at #5. This is the time of the Summer that I wary of Sci-Fi type flicks, maybe I'm not alone! New on Blu-Ray this week: GIFTED (FOX SEARCHLIGHT) - A single man raising his child prodigy niece, is drawn into a custody battle with his mother. This is one of THE MOST underrated films of the year. Chris Evans, mostly known as Captain America, and McKenna Grace star. Their relationship is FANTASTIC and the movie is touching, I JUST LOVED IT! Locally: Take a peek at moxiecinema.com for info on the latest Indies coming to downtown Springfield! I saw Sam Elliott's HERO last weekend, I love that man! Make plans for an outdoor MOVIE at Founders Park! Friday night is GOONIES and Saturday night one of my TOP FAVE MOVIES OF ALL TIME, FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF parkboard.org/movies for tons more info and how to get your FREE tickets! Connect with me!
