http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12503/7023541?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Mon, 31 Jul 2017 12:36:39 +0000 Hackers and cybersecurity experts join forces at conference Hackers and cybersecurity experts join forces at conference http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12503/7023541?cpt=8&wpid=2637 KTVX ABC 4 Salt Lake City small businesses that don't have the ability to run their own advertising campaigns. that is your business report. >> haley: here we have our cybersecurity expert with us to join us. what makes this conference so special? click one of the big things is it brings together cybersecurity professionals, law enforcement and a bunch of geeks interested in tech and other gadgets. 25,000 people show up to the conference in las vegas every year. this is the 25th year. >> haley: what makes it so special this conference? and what are the experts talking about? >> a lot of things. they did some things involving car hacking and things they can do with the new cars i have all of these features. they also have what they call a hacking village which basically they brought in over two dozen voting machines that depicted from auctions and other places that they basically turn the bunch of hackers and to see what they can do. >> haley: what did they find? i mean voting machines invulnerability has been huge talking points nationally and internationally. did they find anything? >> they did. after the 2 and a half days that access they found some kind of vulnerability in every machine. most of those were physical vulnerabilities. someone had to tamper with it. you two should we be concerned? >> a bit. this is a complicated things. because people can mess with them we really need to pay attention but in this case where almost all of them were opening up the machine to get into it it should be a problem because official should be able to see that. but some of them were running outdated systems, this is something that needs to be paid attention to. >> haley: it is something we should be concerned about in utah? >> i don't know if they have a specific model that was use of the conference but in utah we have a second ballot that print out along with the electronic version so you can see with the vote was. it gives voters an extra level of confidence that things are not being messed with. >> haley: anything else that came out of the conference? it is fascinating. >> just more concerns like the internet. it shows that all new technology comes with new risk. >> haley: absolutely. thank you robert for joining us for
