North Boone Preview Sun, 13 Aug 2017 02:23:37 +0000 North Boone Preview North Boone Preview WTVO ABC on the football field... last season the north boone vikings won just three games in the big northern conference with a lot of youth and inexperience. one year later the vikings are looking to compete with some the best the conference has to offer. we continue our high school football previews in boone county. ((josh)) after fininshing in the bottom half of the big northern conference the north boone vikings are looking right last season's wrongs. ((aaron sullivan, north boone head coach)) i think they learned a lot last year. they learned how to practice. they learned what to expect in the varsity games. so we did get a ton of experience. ((josh)) the vikings lacked experience last season with many players suiting up for the varsity team for the first time. but that's not the case this season. north boone is loaded with seniors and juinors who know what to expect. ((britton morris, junior quarterback)) camp went a lot smoother this year because you know we're not starting from scratch. everybody's got experience from last year. we're just building from last year instead of bringing people along. ((josh)) britton morris is back under center after a prolific sophomore season. morris led led the conference in passing with over 21-hundred passing yards and 23 touchdowns. he also was the team's leading rusher. ((sullivan)) we expect britton to have a big year for us. we expect a number of a guys to have big years for us that are back and got a lot of time last year. ((morris)) with another year under your belt everybody's kind of - even all of our receivers we're kind of more in sync and everybody's kind of more experienced. ((josh)) morris will have playmakers like max schwartz, hayden corson, cooper baeden, nate nelson in their high-octane spread offense. ((nathan nelson, senior wide receiver)) the offense is looking really great. i say probably one of the best offenses in our league, and the defense is looking better and better, stronger. ((josh)) defense is where the vikings need to make their biggest jump. boone allowed 340 points last season. second most in the conference. ((morris)) winning more plays is what it comes down to. i feel like we'll be more physical, and that will translate to winnning quarters which translates to winning games. ((nelson)) we just have to take it game by game. i mean we're going to see how we're going to approach each game and we're just looking to have a really good record, and have a really good season. ((josh))
