[a7]mcmaryion cleared-pkg :03 1:24 jeff tedford there's a lot from that position, obviously. from snap court to formations, the whole bit. it's a lot to comprehend in a short amount of time. but because he is a veteran guy and he's used to things conceptually of what goes on on the football field, one thing we don't have to worry about is getting him used to the speed of the game because he's played at a high level before. so it's really just to get him going with the playbook right now and get him comfortable." andrew what do you see f his skill set? what does he briromng to the bulldogs? jeff tedford he's very competitive. he's a smart, competitive kid. throws the ball really good well, has really good speed. escape dimension. he's got the full package for sure. i had the pleasure to watch him play when he was at oregon state a few times. he did a a great job. and so now it's time to get him in a position where he's comfortable playing. and he can play fast and he can play without having to think too much. but i have a lot of confidence in his skill and he'll be in a great position to compete to play. andrew are there any challenges with the season being three weeks away and him not even in full pads yet to get up to speed with everything in time for that first game? jeff tedford oh yeah, for sure. these guys have been here through the spring and through the summer. and so he's really gonna have to dive deep into it. but the good thing about it is he doesn't have to learn a lot of the other things that go along with the quarterback. he has that knowledge and that ability, situation football, understanding those things. really he can just focus on the playbook and what's going on. not so much about the position of quarterback to manage a game and all that type of thing. so it's not like a high school kid coming late, it's a guy that has some experience." andrew having six quarterbacks, is that too many? jeff tedford no, that's fine. we're not gonna give six quarterbacks reps. by any means. we'll start cutting it down to giving three quarterbacks reps. and really try to get them up to speed on what's going on. six quarterbacks in camp are fine just because of drills and throwing the football around to receivers and so on and so forth. there are a lot of different things going on on the field. it's not too many to have in camp. we will never rep six quarterbacks. right now we only rep really four and we'll cut it down to three pretty shortly." today was the bulldogs' second scrimmage of fall camp. the third scrimmage is one week from today...and that one is open to the public. it's fan appreciation day. classes start the following tuesday. and then of course the season opener against incarnate word is on saturday,
