http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12451/7042473?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Sun, 13 Aug 2017 03:20:12 +0000 Liotus Sports Liotus Sports http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12451/7042473?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WVLA welcome to sports everyone.we continue our countdown to kickoff until the college football season...we're 22 days away for the southern jags and 21 days away for lsu. number 21 reminds us of football great -- jerry stovall.the halfback played for lsu in the 60's...so we had to dig pretty deep for this footage! stovall went on to play for the cardinals in the nfl... before he became the head coach at lsu from 1980 to 1983.but jerry stovall -- a good reminder that we are just 21 days away from the college football season. as we get closer and closer -- the lsu tigers continue their preseason camp.today -- their second scrimmage.coach orgeron said he was an offense dominated scrimmage.he said coach matt canada is comfortable calling the offense and it's ?almost? completely installed. seems like matt is comfortable calling the offense. we are about 70% there install. repition, more things he knows our gusy can do. he did a tremendous job. we came out very physical on offense and took it to the defense... the defense was really feeling well. the southern jags hitting the field again today for scrimmage number two, as well. their starting quarterback sat most of it out... the coaches wanted to see what the younger guys could do.but ---- defense dominated most the game.one person in particular stood out -- that was demerio houston. the junior out of north carolina had 2 interceptions on the day...and he's second string.houston said he wanted to prove to the coaches he can play with the best of them. i needed this to boost my confidence so i can show the coaches that i can play against anybody, the best receivers... i can guard him as well. it felt good. set the tempo for the rest of the scrimmage. last week the offense jumped out fast so we needed to have a good start. the saints back at it after a preseason game in cleveland this week.in camp today -- alvin kamara standing out.. the defense struggled most of the day but did have a few highlight plays toward the end.the saints lost to the browns earlier this week -- but vonn bell says there were some highs... and some things they need to work on. we got a lot of 3 and outs. get the backk to offense as much as possible, do what we do. getting fast start just show the world what we're capable of. situational things. some came down to third down stops -- about situational football -- grow as a group and get better with the football iq and a tough night for usain bolt. he ran the final race of his career tonight... and it didn't quite go as planned.the 8-time olympic gold-medalist was running the anchor leg for the 4 by 1 relay. -- jamaica in lane 5 -- watch as bolt pulled up midway through his leg and went to the ground while grabbing what looks like his left hamstring.eventually he was helped to his feet and limped across the finish line...if there was any silver lining.... former lsu all- american -- nathanial mitchell- blake crossed the finish line in this same race -- winning the gold for great britain. thanks ashley! we'll be back right
