http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12524/7042596?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Sun, 13 Aug 2017 12:20:04 +0000 Laura Ingalls Wilder Days interview on Local Five this Sunday Morning http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12524/7042596?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WFRV this weekend. joining me now is erin comer director of education and special guests dean butler who played almanzo wilder lucy lee flippin who played his sister eliza jane. 1~ dean- you played laura ingalls wilder's husband - almonzo or as she called you manly- tell us a little about the character. answer: his name was spelled a l m a n z 0. he was an irresistible prairie hayseed. there is nothing else you need to know. 2~ what was it like working on an iconic show like little house on the prairie? answer: amazing. beyond my wife and my family little house is one of the great things that's happened to me in my life. i could not be more grateful for everything that it has brought to me. 3~ lucy lee- you played almonzo's sister eliza jane- tell us a little about her character. she was the schoolteacher- prim and precise. 4~ what was it like being a part of television history? i did not realize it at the time, that it would become so beloved worldwide. amazing. 5~ erin- tell us about laura ingalls wilder days - what all is going on? we have a variety of activities that wilder days - what all is going on? we have a variety of activities that relate to the books and/or show that both kids and adults can join in. we have historic games, historic cooking methods, rope making, printing calling cards, and more. dean and lucy will also be doing a presentation at 10:15 and signing autographs from 12:30-3. 6~ why is it so important to share with others this part of our history? i think learning about what life was like when laura ingalls wilder was young and the struggles people living back then had to deal with helps people appreciate what they have today. the show helps us realize how far technology and other parts of life have come since the 1870s and 1880s. plus the show itself is just a good family show, demonstrating good values. 7~ now every year you bring celebrity guests from the show- it must be the highlight of the event. the celebrities are definitely the highlight of the event. many people say that young kids wouldn't recognize these guys, but they really do. the little house books and show have really carried on through a couple generations, now, and it's really great that these guys are so happy to spend time with their fans and share their love for the show. 8~ dean and lucy lee- why do you like being a part of events like this? do you do many of them? answer: its wonderful to be part of something like little house that people really love. in 2014 we celebrated the 40th anniversary of the series. this summer we are celebrating laura's 150th birthday so its been a busy few months for the entire little house cast. 9~ so we need details- still going on today? cost? time? and when is the autograph session so people can meet dean and lucy lee.
