http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12449/7054941?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Tue, 22 Aug 2017 02:57:50 +0000 New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey rehabs in Binghamton New York Mets pitcher Matt Harvey rehabs in Binghamton http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12449/7054941?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WIVT-Syndi may not have experienced a total solar eclipse here in binghamton, we had quite a dark knight. that's right, new york mets ace matt harvey made a rehab appearance tonight for the rumble ponies. the former 7th overall selection is rehabing in the mets system after suffering a stress injury to his throwing shoulder back in june. harvey recently made two appearances with the brooklyn cyclones, the mets short-season class a affiliate, and he made his way to binghamton tonight for the first time since 2011.after a storm rolled through the area and delayed first pitch about an hour, the tarp came off and it was time for baseball. rumble ponies and fisher cats. there was a lot of optimism surrounding harvey tonight and early on he looked good. here in the top of the first,runner on second, harvey getting some help from shortstop luis guillorme (gee- or-may) with a leaping grab to retire the inning! next inning, harvey, dialed in, picking up his first strikeout of the night. good stuff there,later that inning though, not so much. runner at second and derrick loveless has no loveloss for harvey, hitting a chopper up the middle and scoring a run, putting the fisher cats up 1-0. next batter though, harvey bounces back, striking out his second victim of the night. top 3, harvey picking up another strikeout. but just when things looked like they were going well, this happens. harvey giving up a bomb to david thompson, his 14th homer of the season, and new hampshire takes a 2-0 lead. harvey not thrilled with that one, but his team would pick him up.bottom of the third, fisher cats still up 2-0. rumble ponies have one on for kevin kaczmarski who sends one into right field, scoring patrick biondi, cutting the lead to one, and some excitement from the home crowd for someone not named matt harvey. harvey would go on to pitch three innings, finishing with two runs on four hits, three k's, and one walk. after a bumpy outing, harvey didn't seem too discouraged about his performance. matt harvey says, "the only discouraging thing was i started feeling better in the third inning and they control the pitch count. i think obviously being out there more and getting more comfortable obviously this is my third outing. the last one in brooklyn was pretty good. and then today starting to get more comfortable and letting the ball go a little bit and hitting my spots, and just try to attack the hitters." cam lavallee says, "the rumble ponies would come back to rally in the 6th inning, putting up 5 runs and tying the game at 6 but new hampshire would take back the lead for good in the top of the 10th, your final score, that's
