KGPE CBS 47 Fresno scott and you are looking live inside a carl's junior in visalia... where the golden west trailblazers are celebrating tonight. they beat exeter 48-3 in our carl's junior game of the week. more with julia lopez and the happy winners in a little bit. scott scott bemis and andrew marden here... and welcome to week five of cbs-47 sidelines... presented by chevron. as always... plenty of highlights on the way.... as well as cheerleaders shout-outs... and a hidden highlight you don't wanna miss from last week's action. andrew but we start with a division- one showdown at fresno city college. andrew 2-1 clovis west against 1-3 bullard. that's ricardo arias...fresno state commit... this is gabe solorio...catch es the short pass from dante chachere and gets a nice pickup...20 yards on the play. the drive would end in a touchdown...jeremiah ellison gets the points...golden eagles up 14-7. next possession...c- dub right around midfield...chachere has his eyes downfield...and he's got his guy...ricardo arias...that's a 41-yard touchdown. clovis west up 21-7. golden eagles go on to win, 37-13. andrew at sunnyside stadium, the wildcats hosting undefeated memorial. sunnyside has a couple of guys committed to fresno state...deshawn ruffin and sherwin king. first quarter...they couldn't stop dashawn holliman from finding the end zone. short touchdown run for the panther nothing memorial. still in the first...panthers now on defense...zach angelillo reads the play perfectly and sacks donovan kong for a huge loss. memorial improves to five-and-oh, winning 56-30. scott at lamonica stadium... foothill out of the redding area... making the long drive south to face clovis east. ryan reynolds still looking for his first win as t-wolves head coach. 2nd quarter... down 14-3... the wolves put a nice drive together. gerard mendez with the nice completion out in the flat for good yardage. then.. it's running back romello knight carrying cougars inside the 20. a short time later... it's knight again... from six yards out... diving into the end zone. that cut the lead to four. the wolves play tough... but the cougars spoil their homecoming game... 27-24. scott speaking of homecoming festivities... the clovis north senior class putting on a good halftime show at their homecoming game. current bulldog walk- on q-b and former bronco brent bailey on hand to help crown the new homecoming king. the broncos trailed paso robles 14-7 at half. early 3rd... the guy taking over for bailey at north behind center... d-j frampton with a strike to brendan bechtel... the broncos are in business. but a penalty would push em back... and then... trey patton is behind the defense... but can't come up with the ball. paso robles wins it 27-7. clovis north now 1-and-4. scott alright... as mentioned earlier... the golden west trailblazers won our carl's junior game of the week tonight... in dominating fashion over exeter. they're now 4-and-oh on the year. and julia lopez is hanging with our winners at a carl's in visalia. julia... take it away. julia lopez julia lopez live with xxx at the carl's junior here in visalia... where xxx was victorious tonight. let's show some highlights from this one. julia let's head to groppetti stadium for the battle between unbeatens... 3 and oh golden west trailblazers hosting the 4 and oh exeter monarchs on homecoming. ----------- and on the trailblazers first drive of the game, they do this.... payton allen fires it to ian kelly for the score and it's 7- nothin' golden west. ---------- in the 2nd quarter... monarchs answer back... nice run by isaiah urban... he keeps fighting until he's finally brought down, they'd settle for a field goal. ----------- jump to the 3rd quarter, and it's 21-3 blazers... and they air it out again. allen drops and sends a beautiful pass to isaac perez.... and it's 28-3 golden west. ------------ but take a look at this... on the first play of their drive... the trailblazers do this.... running back kai caudell breaks lose... gives the stiff arm... and he's gone! 65 yard touchdown by the senior! golden west ends up winning 48-3. julia lopez julia another showdown of undefeated's... as the emperors welcome porterville to town. exeter cheer outcue: :04-08 anthony bailey "i'm telling you, these guys are pumped up out here, the friday morning matchup in the south valley" scott friday's... the high school football coverage starts early in the morning here on c-b-s 47... when our morning show goes to a couple schools for their morning matchup, sponsored by papa murphy's. today... joe moeller and anthony bailey were at el diamante and mt. whitney high schools respectively... getitng the student bodies ready for their football game tonight. andrew by the way... that battle in visalia won by el diamante 38-16. meantime... good matchup farther north in dinuba this evening. the 3-and-oh emperors hosting fellow unbeaten porterville. andrew dinuba students section is pumped up tonight. #1 josh magana throws long to #2 brian ortuno-campbell with a great catch and then gets taken out by porterville #48 mark inman #1 josh magana throws the ball short to #4 lucas tutttle.... who almost gets taken down 3 times, he runs it in for a td making it 14-0 dinuba. they stay undefeated... taking down the panthers 56- nothing. andrew central valley christian hosting chavez tonight. the cavaliers four-and-oh for the first time since 2014. they're averaging about 35 points per game. brian noel with the reception here...and the touchdown...ab le to stay on his feet enough to stretch the ball over the goal line. more from the cavaliers...cad en medcalf takes the handoff and he's gone. c-v-c no problem in this one...56-to-nothing to improve to five-and-oh. andrew another good season in the works for liberty-madera ranchos... four-and-oh entering tonight's game against corcoran. first play from scrimmage...kal eb roth around the outside...panthers can't keep up. that's a ven-nothing hawks. liberty is known for its run game. it can pass too...greyson hoelzel to colton cardoza...catches it at about the ten yard line...he drags the defender into the endzone for six. hawks are now five-and-oh. they win, 67-19. scott roosevelt at selma. we join the game in the 4th quarter where the selma bears are on top 12 to 6 the first play of the 4th quarter, the bears qb #11 jr ramirez takes the ball in himself for a 5 yard touchdown making it 19 to 6 later in the 4th the rough riders are moving down the field but are stopped when #21 isaiah chambers fumbles the ball and the bears #4 brian ching recovers the ball with time running out, the rough riders make an attempt to score when number #11 jr ramirez intercepts the ball to secure the win. selma wins 19-6. they're now 5-and-oh. scott 3-and-1 kerman visiting 0-and-3 mclane. 1. kudos to the highlander fans who came out to support their guys. 2. first quarter kerman already up 7-0, qb sean chambers throws deep to trace silva for a 25 yrd gain 3. sets up chambers with the qb keeper for the td 13-0 kerman 4. mclane fights back, brandon ruiz up the middle and breaks it for a 30 yrd gain 5. sets up ruiz with the 9yrd td run but kerman just a little too tough... again showing why they're one of the serious contenders in division-four. lions win it 62-14. scott of course... also a big night for the xxx... who beat xxx in our carl's junior game of the week. let's head back out to julia in visalia... who's standing by with the winning overcoming a 28-point deficit and winning in overtime. our hidden highlight is on the way. area. scott clovis at centennial michael macado touchdown catch for cougars. jason hunt qb keeper for a lengthy touchdown run. clovis wins 4-1. andrew 1-and-3 edison traveling to bakersfield to face oh-and-4 garces... tigers down nine-nothing when they get on the board...kwabena watson picks up the loose ball and runs the other way for the touchdown...that makes it 9-7. here's a more traditional touchdown...on offense jameson silva on the slant to mckenzie barnes. nice throw, nice catch. edison gets the win, 27-15. scott undfeated tulare union traveling to bakersfield... to face 2-and-1 independence. and the tribe again showing why they are possibly the favortie in d-2... and one of the best teams in the valley outright. the explosive kaz-meir allen... was up to his old tricks. returns the opening kickoff 85 yards for the score. then later... it's allen on the screen from nathan lamb... allen is putting up video game numbers early in the season. the tribe now 4-and-oh... as they blow out independence 54-7. andrew now we get to as many games as we can... but we certainly can't get to em all... so each week here on sidelines... we like to show you something of note we missed from the previous week. scott something we call the hidden highlight. scott and last friday night... el capitan produced a comeback for the ages. playing on the road in sunnyvale against king's academy... the gauchos overcame a 28-point deficit. with under two minutes to play... they got the 2-point conversion to tie it up. they got the ball first in overtime... and on 4th and goal from the 21... kevin reid found adrian moreno for the go- ahead score. after missing the enusing 2- pointer... they would need a defensive stop to seal the victory... and they get it... thanks to some nice defense from kevin fernandez and jake leonardo. the gauchos win a wild one... 41-35 in overtime... in this
