http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12833/7128122?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Thu, 12 Oct 2017 23:21:41 +0000 A Night of Fights Preview Local Boxing http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12833/7128122?cpt=8&wpid=2637 WMBB any boxing fans in the area... or anyone who likes to watch a good fight... one event we're really looking forward to this weekend is "a night of fights"... an exciting evening of amateur boxing that really helps support our local athletes... it's taking place this saturday at laketown wharf in panama city beach... doors open at seven o clock and the fights will begin at 7:30... it will feature about 10 to 12 fights... ranging from ages 11 to 33... and will include at least seven athletes from the local chapter of ultimate boxing... as well as fighters from surrounding areas... they do this event every six months... with around 15 hundred people going to the last one... as an added bonus... two time cruzerweight champion steve cunningham will be there to take pictures and sign autographs... all the proceeds will help benefit the logan g smith foundation to keep local boxing alive and well... those involved with the sport here in bay county say this is an event you won't want to miss... "we don't get to showcase amateur boxing in the area a whole lot. most of the time we end up going to other areas where they host a few events per year. so when we have it here, we're pretty excited about it and we look forward to having our friends and family come out." "people like watchin the amateur fights, because it's exciting. the guys have been doing it for 15 years, and they're not as calm. they get right into it, it's toe to toe, and they really wear themselves out." tickets for adults are 15 dollars with discounts for students, first responders, and military... kids 10 and under
