http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12519/7161896?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Tue, 07 Nov 2017 12:44:48 +0000 How staying physically fit helps racing star Danica Patrick Danica Patrick talks with Tyson Romero about her new documentary and how staying fit helps her career. http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12519/7161896?cpt=8&wpid=2637 KTVX ABC 4 Salt Lake City documentary on fitness. you know her as one of the fastest drivers in the world. she's made her mark on the track, now she's telling her story. a new documentary following the life of danica patrick is out now and to give us the scoop, she's joining us in today's sponsored segment. danica, thank you for being with us today. you're welcome. thank you. happy to have you. so when did you first realize that you were going to be a professional racecar driver? that's tough. i mean, probably when i get paid for the first time -- i was 19. that meant i was professional, right? but i started racing when i was 10. i would say at 16 when i moved to england and left high school. that was probably the point where i was like "all right, i'm going to have to make this work. right, i'm going to have to make this work. i just left high school." and now, you're one of the most recognizable faces in the sport, and on top of that, you're also staying very physically fit. do you think that gives you an advantage in the sport that you're in? well i think that anything that doesn't distract you from the job at hand and take away your focus is good. and i know that there's plenty of studies -- you know, whether it's talking about hydration or, you know, probably pure strength and energy of doing something. if your mind is on your body and in pain, uncomfortable, or dehydrated, then it takes away from your mental sharpness to do the job. and at 200 miles per hour in a game of inches, you need to be sharp. yeah, sure it works. i'm stronger than i need to be to do the job and i probably have better endurance than i need to do the job, but more is not worse. i enjoy being physically fit for myself to not only feel good, but look good of course. and i actually like working out. i'm one of those people. which is good. it's always good to be one of those people and have a discipline to kind of fall back on. now, you have this new documentary called 'danica' -- when and where can we watch that documentary? it's on epix and it comes out november 8th at 8pm. for everybody that wants to much for being with us today. you're welcome.
