Putts for a Purpose - 10/24/17 Tue, 24 Oct 2017 20:20:50 +0000 Putts for a Purpose - 10/24/17 Putts for a Purpose - 10/24/17 KOLR [?] >> joy: all right. everybody, welcome back and say hello to johnny, todd and steve. these gentlemen are going to talk about something near and dear to tom's heart. i don't know where tom is, but we're going to talk about golf. this is called putts for a purpose. good to see you guys. what is putts for a purpose? >> guest: do you want me to do it or i'll take it? >> guest: putts for a purpose is an event we put together through an organization called the fedora club. we're a gentlemen's club organized a few years back. the purpose of the fedora club is to bring back the brand of the gentleman. and then, when we were -- we get involved in philanthropic things like this throughout the community... >> joy: in the true sense of a gentleman. >> guest: yes, absolutely. we kind of -- steve, you know, he started the fedora club and the concept was that there isn't enough gentlemen left in the world. so we developed a club based on that. and then, our first essential flagship charity that we decided to get involved with was harmony house. >> joy: right. very good! >> guest: myself and todd here have an internet show that we do called side ways live, that we are incorporating this event into "side ways live." we're going to film the entire event, the death match in branson. >> joy: the putting death match. >> guest: i'm going to be commentating the whole thing. >> joy: really? >> guest: yeah. going around where a microphone and emcee everything. >> joy: this sounds like a lot of fun. is this the first time you've done the event? >> guest: this will be our first. >> joy: can anybody get involved and get their hands on it and get in there? >> guest: no, everybody cannot play in the tournament. but they can follow us and that sports the activity we're going to. we're playing against riders of the royal secret, for the opportunity to win some challenge holes against each other, too. so there are some locked money that automatically goes to our charities for harmony house for rare breed. >> joy: got it. as we mentioned in the bump a minute ago, there are two charities that stand to benefit. >> guest: we'll go head to head for all out money, a couple of holes for a couple of hundred dollars. and whoever wins, gets to go to their charity. >> joy: when and where? >> guest: in branson this saturday at 2:00 p.m. >> joy: okay. this saturday in branson 2:00. where exactly? >> guest: at the wild wood indoor mini golf facility. it's on wild wood avenue in branson. you probably have to gps it to get there because it's a new facility. but it's awesome! >> joy: that's why we have these right here. there is the putts for a purpose sort of flyer that explains everything. now, you're going to be sort of doing the color commentary here. >> guest: the side ways live show is ours. but i'm also in the fedora. so i'll be kind of playing and then commentating being involved in what he's doing. but he's going to be the guy commentating on the entire event. and that will get edited and ramped through the group and released on the internet along with sponsor who purchased hole to say get involved in the organization. and then, the charity for us this weekend. and then, we'll be of course promoting that later on for their benefit for getting involved and helping us with harmony house. >> joy: so people can come and watch if they want to. >> guest: absolutely. >> joy: of course they can donate. why these two charities? >> guest: for us for awhile, we've been looking around for charities that we liked. we settled on harmony house because of this fact: the problem with domestic abuse is that it happens for men who aren't acting well in most cases. we wanted to be the other side of the coin and represent men who respect what women bring to the table. and that's why we invested in this particular one. >> guest: one of the worst things after someone has been abused, is the trust factor and never being able to go forward in life and feeling like there's decent gentlemen out there. and we want to let them know that there are and we wanted to get involved with that and make it our flagship charity. we do a lot of different things. personally, i've been involved in a lot of charities over the last 10-15 years. but this is going to be our thing that we really focus on every year. >> joy: well there are gentlemen left in the world and i love hearing that. and of course, it helps the rare breed as well, which helps teen-agers who have no place to go outside of the rare breed. all right, todd, johnny
