Falcons host TPC Friday. Thu, 07 Dec 2017 04:25:57 +0000 Falcons Off to 3-0 Start. Falcons host TPC Friday. WTWO year. ((grant))we are just two weeks into the boys basketball season..... and a handful of teams remain of those teams might be a bit more surprising than others. our tommy pool made the trip to cayuga and has more on the north vermillion falcons.<< don't look now but the north vermillion falcons are off to a 3-0 start..... despite the clubs sectional championship last year..... it's a big change from the 2016-17 season. trevor eppert, junior: it's great how we started last year. john berning, coach: it's funny last year we are sitting 3-17 going into february, this year we are sitting at 3-0 just starting december.what's behind the recent success? a couple of things that actually contributed to last years slow start. the falcons return 8 core players.... 7 of which are juniors this year..... not only does the young group get more experience and build more chemistry but has also spent more time under second year coach john berning.trevor eppert, junior: just having another year under coach's system. last year was all new to us and we are finally getting the hang of it. chris ellis, senior: we just put in the work in the off season and it's paid off so far we just have to keep working. north vermillion knocked off west vigo in the season opener before taking down two conference and sectional opponents in the banks of the wabash tournament... turkey run and riverton parke en route to the championship. chris ellis, senior: it gives us enough confidence to keep working hard at practice but it still keeps us humble because we know how much farther we have to go.while the falcons are soaring..... their eyes are set on the final destination.... that being where the season ended last year.john berning, coach: we want to be playing our best ball in march and give our selves a shot to go far in the tournament. we've had a nice start but we want to keep it going. we have to keep building on it. we have plenty to get better at and plenty we need to
