"well just like at yankee stadium the voters all rose for the judge, aaron judge is the american league of the jackie robinson rookie of the year award as all ballots had him on top. he's the 9th yankees player to be honored and only the second by unanimous vote along with derek jeter the winner 21 years ago." julia no surprise here... we all knew this was coming... aaron judge swept the voting ballots with all 30 first place votes. the former diamond 'dog set a rookie record in home runs in a single-season with 52... he led the a-l in runs, homers and walks. judge was with his parents when he heard the good news. 00-05 aaron judge "it means everything. it's quite an honor and ah thank you, thank you, it's an honor and a privilege, ya know i'm just one piece in this organization ya know the impact of my teammates and my family and friends through this first year has been huge, i can't thank everyone enough." judge being humble per usual... he comes from an amazing background, great parents. as for the national league... well, there was no surprise here either... dodgers' slugger cody bellinger was named n-l rookie of the year. he also won by unanimous vote. this is the second straight dodger to win this award... corey seager took it last year. bellinger broke the n-l rookie record for home runs with 39... and finished second in the n-l only behind giancarlo stanton. julia from the diamond to the gridiron... the fresno state football team is coming off of a 31-21 win over hawaii. this week, the bulldogs are preparing for a much different locale as they get ready to face the wyoming cowboys in laramie. wyoming's offensive centerpiece is firebaugh- native josh allen... the cowboys' star quarterback left the game early this weekend with an apparent shoulder injury. wyoming head coach craig bohl told the media today that allen has been cleared to practice at some time this week. he also added that he might be a "gametime decision" if he's able to play against fresno state. whether he's a hundred percent or not... bulldog head football coach jeff tedford has major respect for the valley-native. 00-05 jeff tedford "he's a great player, there's no doubt about it, when you get a guy as big as he is and he's mobile and he's tough, highly competitive, great arm talent for sure, can put the ball anywhere on the field, can make all the throws, he's a special player, we have to be ready." julia tedford did say he expects josh allen to play because he is a competitor... but on top of that... fresno state was the program that passed on allen out of high school... they had a different coaching staff... but you know allen has had this game circled for a long time. back to you. kathryn: coming up tonight on eyewitness
