Thu, 07 Dec 2017 16:20:33 +0000Understanding Alzheimer’s and Other DementiasUnderstanding Alzheimer’s and Other Dementias.http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12463/7203464?cpt=8&wpid=2637WCIA>>heather: the wcia 3 and ciliving home for the holidays expo is in full swing at the city center until 7:00 p.m. lots of time to come by and say hi. helping us to maneuver the holidays, it can be a challenge. especially for seniors without time is or dementia. we have home instead senior care - - hanging out with us. we appreciate you hanging out with us. the holiday time can be a rough time for families facing alzheimer's ordementia . this talk about the help you provide families and caregivers. >> absolutely. good afternoon champaign - urbana. thank you wcia for inviting us here today. we keep seniors independent in their homes. we do cooking for them. socializing. provide transportation and personal care such as bathing. we also help people that are being discharged from hospitals or rehabilitation centers. in those situations, we try to work ourselves out of a job. our priority is to make you feel better, keep you hydrated, cook for you, strength exercise and follows doctor's care of plan. that way there is fewer readmissions is what our priority is. we also do hospice when it comes to that stage of life. we want to make that person comfortable and also support the family. if there's not enough family members around, we are there to help. we also do respite care for family caregivers. when you are born out, you can really give. we need to remain mentally healthy. there's nothing wrong with pursuing your own personal life. it's very healthy to do so. we try to take the responsibility off of you and care for your loved one so that you can care for yourself. >>heather: what i really appreciate about what you do, you guys host a workshop. specifically for caregivers who may be facing this journey without fibers orwith outout ou dementia. >> - - [indiscernible] >>heather: somebody else that wants to make life easier. who do we have down here? >> this is sweet p. she's a trained therapy dog. we take her around to the various clients. they love to see her. she makes around with us so when people come in, she is there to greet. >>heather: there is something about a dog that can relate to all people of any circumstance. you are new to central illinois so welcome first of all. how can people learn more from you? >> our office number is 203-2000. >>heather: i think we are looking at the website right now which we will be happy to share
