Second annual Big Band Gala for Babies

By Clip Syndicate
Big band for a big cause! Coast residents dressed up in their best 30s and 40s attire for the Gulfport Women’s Resource Center’s largest fundraiser of the year. Tonight marked the second annual Big Band Gala for Babies which features food, live entertainment, mocktails, and even free swing lessons. This year’s program included a celebrity lookalike contest, guest speakers, and a silent auction at the Hospitality and Resort Management Center on MGCCC’s Jefferson Davis campus. Proceeds from the event go toward helping the center provide resources for newborns, infants, and new and expecting parents. Gala Attendee Toby Goldin said, “Living here in Gulfport, of course we want to support the community and we feel good about helping women and giving back to the Women’s Resource Center." Gala Attendee Ryan Goldin said, “(How do you feel about the theme?) I love the theme. I didn’t realize it until I got in here. So next year, watch out. It’s on!” This year the center’s goal was to raise over thirty thousand dollars.
