"this morning i had fifteen by the time i got here // monthly we probably get 60 orders so that's definitely above normal." lawson is packing digital orders for the business' first year taking part in cyber monday. she says it's definitely a unique step for the small business. "small businesses being online, i don't see a ton of that i guess. so i think it's neat for us to be able to provide that as a small business because especially with free shipping and stuff like that, you just don't see that type of thing from a small business." and while it's a service the store is happy to offer -- lawson says it doesn't come without its challenges. "i think it's a lot harder being a small business than being a big business. you have to have your specials for black friday and you want to have just as good if not better deals on small business saturday, just because, those are our every day customers and those are the people that support us daily." lawson says the boutique serves a wide variety of customers -- so entering the digital world has been a huge help. "it's just easier you don't have to get out. especially moms with young kids or whatever it's so much easier to just order it online and have it shipped directly to your house than it is to go in store." but lawson isn't just a retail employee -- she herself is a consumer. and on both sides of the spectrum -- lawson says she's definitely noticed the digital shift. "i think it is sad in a sense because it's neat to go out too and shop the small businesses and that type of thing and get that personalized feel that you don't necessarily get online. but i think it's interesting and it's going to boom whether we want it to boom or not." in terre haute -- lacey clifton -- news 10. officials say online orders tend to peak around 8 to 11 p-m tonight. they say by that time-- shoppers know exactly what they want -- and there's a sense of urgency since the deals disappear tomorrow morning.
