((aaron))that's the reaction many had when manufacturer after manufacturer left one town -- but today they saw hope. good evening i'm aaron eades((ty)) and i'm ty batemontoday people in vermilion county toured some of the area's major manufacturers. from nascar tire rims to plaques for nasa to military jet parts -- they all come out of the danville area. w-c-i-a three's bailey bryant toured the companies that make them today. bailey, people always says manufacturing jobs are dying -- but most of these companies struggle to fill positions? ((bailey))that's one of the reasons vermilion advantage started the tour of industries four years ago. they say locally and nationally manufacturing jobs are the hardest to fill. so today eight companies gave people an inside look at what they do. many of them are international companies that make products used all over the world. several manufacturers left danville and other cities across the country over the past few decades. officials say that could be why they have trouble filling positions. vicki haugen, president & ceo of vermilion advantage: there became this mentality that there was no future in manufacturing. and now the last few years, we've heard so much about all this reshoring -- bringing back -- but we spent 20 years telling people there was no future there. officials say many of these companies are growing -- and they hire for a number of positions -- from engineers to accountants to drivers. ((ty))nationally there are more than 2 million unfilled manufacturing jobs. and the national manufacturing association says by 2025 -- three and a half million unfilled manufacturing jobs in
