Get back to health with Wootton Disc Center Wed, 20 Dec 2017 15:41:14 +0000 Wootton Disc Center Get back to health with Wootton Disc Center WATN >> local memphis live continues with your host, amy speropoulos. >>amy: the football season is in full swing and the matter who you root for almost all of us can agree football is a contact sport especially if you are a defensive tackle. typically the largest, strongest of the players on the field, they take a lot of his windows that better than our next guest. we are thrilled to have this morning former green bay packers defensive tackle cleo to hunt and doctor david wootton. nice to meet you. wait to see you. first of all, you look great and i mean, boy, you look so great and clearly you have just kept your workouts and everything and eating healthy. i want to know what led you to doctor wootton. >> body pain. extreme body pain in the joints and was tensed up a lot. i was having hip problems and couldn't walk right in the proper position until i met him. he saved me from having surgery. >>amy: say that again. >> he saved me from having surgery. >>amy: that is huge. >> anything can happen on the operating table and you don't want to be facedown at the time. >>amy: i know, right? and you know firsthand anything can happen on the football field. you were hit a lot. >> i have taken lots of hits. it was causing things to happen that i did the snow would happen and now today. >>amy: doctor wootton, how was mr. hunt when he came to you? >> not only did he take abuse on the field but also in that weight room day in and day out putting up massive amounts of weight. he could put me up just pick me up with one arm and you with the other. >>amy: and probably another person. >> you have two do that to be able to move those big guys. he was moving 300 pound guys around. your body goes through a tremendous amount of abuse and down the road udp a price for it. you do pay a price for it. we do keep them off the table and he can share all those memories of playing with brett favre. >>amy: obviously, you are extremely passionate about the game of football and able to say, hey, that the big deal. you played with some of these guys like brett favre. >> it was an honor. i got to hang around and meet reggie white and just a lot of other guys i came across playing against them be 16 if you see some of the impact these guys have on tv and as reviewers and the announcers are right, wow, wasn't that a great hit. that person just went through the equivalent of a car accident. you have an eight pound head and a helmet on it and they take that impact and it is a sudden change in direction. there is so much damage that occurs. i am a football fan like everybody, but i do know the amount of trauma. i do some officiating and it shout out to close some of barry who are in the playoffs. >>amy: i know. go tigers. >> i see these impacts in high school let alone the pro level, it is a lot to trauma the three this is actually video of that decompression, a table you can sit on. >> i love that. i told actually a guy friend of mine this morning on the way over here, i told him. i said you have got to go over there and get on the table. they strapped you down and pull you apart b3 it is amazing. i love it. we love everything you have done on and off the field. i know doc holliday our sports director calls you a great friend. always a friend of doctor wootton. the giver joining us. we so appreciated. you can see doctor wootton and get back to
