http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12463/7219473?cpt=8&wpid=2637 Tue, 26 Dec 2017 04:27:55 +0000 Christmas Day Sports Christmas Day Sports http://chic.clipsyndicate.com/video/playlist/12463/7219473?cpt=8&wpid=2637 KAMC into red raider nation... i hope your christmas was filled with raider nation... i hope your christmas was filled with presents... love and tons of ellation. thanks for joining us for a show that promises to not be lame... because today we will be counting down texas tech's top 5 football games. there were ups and downs through this football year... from losing to iowa state to beating the steers. but this team never gave up and made the season salvageable... by winning six games and becoming bowl eligible. so come along with us as we do a deep dive... and of course as always... start with number five. ### to lawrence the red raiders played a team with one win and yet... no one wants to be the one upset. the jayhawks wanted to come out with a strong start... and then nic shimonek picked them apart. two hundred yards... two touchdowns... and hardly a pass incomplete... it was a great day for the tattooed qb. the stockton's were hung by the chimney and done... and then he ran for yards.... 161. 65 to 19 was the final score... and the jayhawks said please no more. ### game number four was not much more of a scare... red raiders... in jerry world... playing the baylor bears. the bears fans turned quiet... as quiet as a mouse... when keke returned the opening kickoff to the house. coutee wasn't the only one scoring... just ask tre king... he played so well he was likely to sing. jingle bells jingle bells jingle all the way....oh what fun the red raiders had on this special day. 38 to 24... this game was done... losing again kept baylor's total season wins at one. ### a familiar foe from the pac 12 was booked... but would the red raiders have what it took. 186 yards and a touchdown for keke is pretty much a normal day... but it was dylan cantrell who put it away. a sweep to the right and a dive through the air... tech had broken the tie... it just wasn't fair. 52 to 45... nearly a hundred points scored... but it was the sun devils who limped home... broken and sore. ### game number two was the houston cougars who seethed... while the red raiders were ready and looking for win number three. ed oliver was ready... and the team gave a glimmer... but texas tech said no... you're our christmas dinner. a 16 game home winning streak on the line... but the cougars they say may have ran out of time. a passing touchdown to stockton and up the chimney they rose... with a win down in houston that was their's to boast. 27 to 24 is quite close... but it was more than enough for tech to move to three and o. ### ryan now game number one... what else can i say... red raiders... longhorns... black friday. tech needed this one to extend their season... but that gave texas all the more reason. with the grinch down in austin ready to ruin their day... the red raiders knew they had to come ready to play. justus parker with the pick and the game was at hand... it was up to the offense to make one last stand. senior to senior... how poetic to see... shimonek to batson gave tech the lead. as clutch as it comes the red raiders showed up... two fourth quarter touchdowns to shut the doubters up. and as the night concluded... the red riaders looked under their trees and found a win over texas... 27 to 23. ### ryan in case you missed it... the best player on the team... is leaving for the nfl to live out his dream. keke coutee announced yesterday he wouldn't be back to continue to play. this season was special anyone could see... he had the second most singles season receiving yards for a tech receiver behind michael christmastree... i mean crabtree. 93 receptions this season... that's 7th in tech history... he surely will be missed next year... by this team. his last game... usf... was arguably one of his best... but credit for his performance he gives to the rest. ### "we felt we could be successful in some certain play calls. to take advantage of those safeties that were down over the slot position and run past them. we had those opportunites all night." ### now avery... keke was special and not many like him will ever catch the ball... he truly was a gift to tech fans... to one and to all. avery and ryan we'll be back with one last
