WCIA county and in your community. >>ryan: ciliving at home in your community with this time of year we care a lot about shopping local. it doesn't get more local than being able to get glass where you see it being blown and created before your eyes. my friend jim downey busy at work. what are you making here today? >> a really cool multicolored ornament. >>ryan: it's beautiful. i know this is a super advanced process but tell me a little about how the process works. >> it's actually a really ancient process. everything i do will start as a blob of - - glass. right now, i am adding the glass color and melting that in. i will put a couple layers of that on there. put it inside my big furnace there, probably about 2000 degrees. >>ryan: 2000 degrees, you want to make sure you know what you're doing. people see all the things around the shop and then get to learn about the process and how each one of these is unique. this is not a mass-produced thing. >> even if i tried, i couldn't make two of them exactly the same. i think people get a greater appreciation for what the artform is and what the end bonuses of this location. i have the studio behind the gallery. almost every day, i am in here making stuff. >>ryan: you have all kinds of creations around the store. i will let you work on this and that we will take a tour to see what you have. it's hard to believe a few thousand degrees in a couple hours later,you transition from the oven to a finished product like this . it's pretty incredible. >> there is an alchemy magic that goes with glassblowing. >>ryan: you did the ornament but you have other things you do throughout the year. >> summertime garden ornaments are big. around the holidays, got them wrapped up in the illini. what's really been special is what i call spirit glass. where i am integrating cremation ashes into a glass memorial. this particular one, has my cat. it's multiple layers of glass with the cremation ashes integrated into the glass. >>ryan: that's amazing. a unique way for people to remember loved ones and animals. >> when people lose somebody that they love, what i like to think it's this helps some of the spirit of that lost loved one. it's something you can hold in your hand. we can put it in an illuminated lightbox. it's an emotional expense for me and other people. i feel privileged to be able to do it for folks. >>ryan: you are taking the time and care to do it custom for them. >> when someone comes in, i want to know what kind of person did that person listen to. when i'm creating, i am summoning the spirit. >>ryan: thank you so much for giving us this tour around the store. an awesome place where again, you can see everything being done right there. thank
