" i guess i wish i could have done more. uh just make more defensive stops. i mean, asia durr is a great player and we just did not do a good job of guarding her tonight. i know there were over 50 people here from princeton that came to watch and so i mean that doesn't happen very often. we are only an hour and a half from home so red nation really showed their support tonight. " thanks jojo ... over on the men's side of college basketball ... southern indiana looks for a big conference win against u-indy. they've already taken them down once this year ... going for another. and it started exactly the way the screaming eagles wanted. here's alex stein finding some space ... and hitting the floater. but usi wasn't just clicking on the offensive end. check out this sequence with u-indy trying to back down julius rah-jah-la they aren't able to score ... but alex stein leads things down the court ... and finds day-jar dickson with the alley-oop. that sends the crowd into a frenzy as usi jumps out to a big lead. the lead would only expand as well ... with the screaming eagles going on to win this game ... 87 to 65. usi is now four and one in conference play. this is the second game at castle high school ... with memorial tipping off against bosse. the bulldogs and mekhi lairy coming off a monster game ... where lairy dropped 49 points. but ... this time around memorial goes ahead early. that was sam deee-vault with the triple ... and it gives the tigers some momentum. and that momentum carried throughout the first quarter. dee-vault eventually comes up with the rebound here ... puts it on the floor and gives the bulldogs a score ... and one. memorial leading 13 to 5 before the free throw. but here comes that man again ... mekhi lairy. he shakes everyone out of their shoes with a step back jumper. he hits and pulls the bulldogs within three. they would continue to score from there ... take the lead ... and go on to win by 13 points. 79 to 66 is the final as lairy finishes with 27. and the game before ... castle battling harrison. it's a 14 point harrison lead at this timeout ... but things are about to change. alex hemenway leading the knights down the court ... and a few passes later they score. castle would make a strong surge late in this game. here is hemenway leading them up the court again ... but this time dishing it in the corner to triston wilkinson ... and he knocks down the triple. at that point the knights within six. but ... harrison is just able to hold on ... they hit their free throws and step up the defense for a huge win in a hostile environment. warriors win 68 to 62 and improve to two and oh against the knights this year. they advance to the championship game to face bosse. over at bosse high school ... the girls semifinals of the s-i-a-c tournament tipped off ... featuring two evenly matched teams in memorial and central. both teams ready for a fight ... and both teams lived up to the hype early. memorial jumped out to an early lead ... but central had a quick answer inside ... going in for two points and a tie game. but the back and forth continued ... here's mallory russell hitting from the corner. the teams would stay evenly matched all the way until the final buzzer. but it's memorial coming out on top ... 55 to 53 in an exciting game to watch. and that means they now take on castle in the title game after the knights beat north the game before. toss to break it's moose time ya you better believe evansville i do you right. the fan favorite harlem globetrotters made a stop at the ford center in evansville tonight (1/11). the entertaining team hit the court ... to take on their long time rivals -- the washington generals. folks enjoyed all their favorite antics ... and a few crowd games. and of course -- the harlem globetrotters pulled out a win over the washington generals -- as they have every time ... the teams play each other.
