("6:26i don't know what i would do without them," mclaughlin ")sean mclaughlin grateful for the hard work..and dedication of the foreign born employees at his local distribution center. good evening, thanks for joining us. i'm nadine woodward. as the trump administration as the trump administration makes promises to crack down on refugee resettlement.. some of the men and women fleeing war-torn countries who have already found safety in the u-s .. are working to contribute to their new communities. in a story you'll only see on kxly 4 news.. ariana lake explains how some refugees are helping his spokane valley small business grow. the man who owns waterglider international was having a hard time finding reliable..and long term employees for this import business. that all changed..when he met a few refugees from sudan... ?nats of machines working?it's another busy morning at waterglider international. 01:34"we're primarily importers and distributors, " owner sean mclaughlin stands behind a sea of meditation pillows..as mubarek hand stuffs each one and sends it through the shrink wrap machine.mubarek doesn't mind this kind of work..like others before him did.3:18"we need people who can show up everyday, not mind to do tasks that are repetitive," mclaughlinworking here. and living in this country is a dream come true for mubarek. 7:10"i live here like, almost i have like 3 years and 4 months,"before this..he lived in war-torn sudan..where he had to leave behind his family...when he came to america.9:23"my family is still in the region of the conflict. he rarely gets to hear their voices.."i have like almost one year or like eight months, i never talked to them," mohamed but he's found a home in spokane..with friends..and a good job...thanks to mclaughlin..and the refugee resettlment non-profit world relief. that's the group that helped two refugees get hired 3 here nearly four years ago. mclaughlin says hiring these foreign born workers is a smart business move.5:27"by being able to rely on steady labor that you know is always going to be there and always produces at a high quality rate, i'm able to concentrate on my job....because i know that everything is going to be produced and processed effectively," mclaughlinthis workplace appreciation seems mutual..10:56"this company is a nice company. and why i like to work here because they have nice people. they respect. they respect people," mohamed. one man's 3 dream..fueling another's...4:55 "i guess i see it as paying it forward but also, like i said, as a business owner it makes the best economic sense," mclaughlin mclaughlin strives to pay above minimum wage..and has even started a modest profit sharing program with his five employees here. live in spokane valley. ariana lake. kxly 4 news. we may luck out and not see much rain
