sports sports sports Wed, 16 May 2018 23:24:30 +0000 Boscobel Clay Target shooting (Melissa Kim PKG) sports sports sports WISC the bucks next head coach. boscobel, wisconsin is a city of just over 3000 people in grant county in southwestern wisconsin... you may not know that a high school team from boscobel won the state championship last year and has a good shot to do it again this year.. they are the state champions in clay target shooting.. and they're known as the "bird dogs".. we sent our melissa kim to find out what 'em so successful. for drew brown, it's all in the family. i was nine and my grandpa took me out and he wanted to start shooting so we did it together. the boscobel freshman is a man of few words - he lets his work do the talking. he's a two time champion. you gotta be calm, dont' get mad, just handle it, no pressure <<nats>> it's a way for me to relieve stress a lot. brenna kvigne is one of the few girls on the team, but she likes that. you just build a bond with other girls from different cities and states. one of her coaches - karlie klas - knows the feeling. it's fun sometimes being the only girl because all these guys kinda look at you like you're not quite as good as them, they get out there and all of a sudden, you can actually hit targets and they're like oh, where'd she come from? and that bond - that's what makes this team special. when someone shoots a good round, just going up and talking to them, and saying good job and giving them a pat on the back, it's good being in it with everyone else i wouldn't trade my team in for the world. i love 'em. when you're having a really good round and you get to the end and you're just shaking, i love seeing everybody around me, it's the people that make it, it really is the people. when i can pass onto these kids, i can see them become good, that makes me happy, maybe one of these kids will take it to the next level sometime, and that will make me feel even happier. so - any tips for someone like me who has never touched a gun before? just keep your gun pointed towards the ground in a safe direction and just take it one bird at a time and focus. got it. in boscobel, melissa kim, news 3 sports.
